HATHA ’ HA ‘(Sun) ‘THA’ (Moon) this is the primary yoga of the west. With its focus on postures, purification and breath for health and union of the body, mind and spirit.
ASHTANGA which means “8 limbs” is a fast paced, intense style of yoga. A set series of poses is performed always in the same order. The Ashtanga practice is physically demanding because of the constant movement from one pose to the next. Ashtanga is also the inspiration for what is often called power yoga or flow, but these classes don’t necessarily keep to the set of the Ashtanga Series.
HOT FLOW involves synchronizing the breath with a fast paced series of postures. A process in which produces intense internal heat and a purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body and a calm mind.
RESTORATIVE is conscious body/mind relaxation. When supported with props the body relaxes and opens, releasing tension and stored up toxins that can lead to illness. Restorative yoga offers benefits to both the mind and body for conditions ranging from insomnia to asthma, chronic pain, to migraines and depression. It also compliments other physical practices of yoga. It will help your mind to become quiet and reflective with your mental, psychological and emotional bodies to be blissfully in balance.
Hot Classes reach 30 C/ 84 F. A nice warm heat on a cold winter day.
Moon Salutations will be taught by Kimberly once per month on the full moon. Please enquire.
